Vandy Vape PYRO V4 RDTA

Instead of RTAs, the Pyro range uses RDTAs. This implies that the liquid will feed down instead of having your coil at the bottom. Your e-liquid is positioned below the coil, which is located at the very highest point of the tank.

Since the Steamcrave line of RDTAs has the coil at the bottom instead of the top, this is technically a “top coiler” RDTA.

The concept is that you should obtain flavor that is quite similar to what you can get from an RDA since the coils are much closer to your mouth and the vapour does not have to go up a little chimney.

Body

The Pyro V4 RDTA has a more straightforward design than its predecessor and fewer moving components.

Starting at the top, you have a pretty typical 810 drip tip with the o-rings in the top cap. If you want, they also offer a 510 drip tip adapter. Next, you have the top cap, which you swivel to change the airflow.

The knurling on the Pyro V4 RDTA makes everything extremely simple to remove, and everything separates quite easily.

The only branding is the word Pyro engraved on one side, which is fairly modest. By rotating the whole top cover, like you would with an RDA, you can also regulate the airflow.

Build Deck

The redesigned deck on the Pyro V4 RDTA is its most intriguing feature. It significantly differs from the Pyro V3 deck that they used!

The deck lacks posts and has four large holes for your coil legs. The screws that hold your coils in place go in at a tiny slant, which is something to keep in mind. Unfortunately, it seems that someone forgot to tell whomever assembled mine, since two of the screws were somewhat cross threaded!

The airflow is the most intriguing feature of this deck, however there are two sizable wick openings where you can feed cotton in. The air enters the deck from the side and is subsequently distributed by a unique honeycomb design.

A dome-shaped area of honeycomb in the center of the deck receives air from the opposite side of your coils, and there are walls on the exterior that provide you with some angled bottom airflow.

Base

In addition to the standard regulatory markings on the base, you’ll also note that it has an o-ring embedded in it.

When used as a bottom feeder, this o-ring helps to avoid leaks. If you wish to convert it, replacing the post is really simple.

There is a wonderfully protruding 510 that is gold-plated on the Pyro V4 RDTA.

Air Movement and Cloud Formation
On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being very tight and 10 being entirely open, this is unquestionably a full-on direct lung tank. There is just the slightest suggestion of restriction (perhaps caused by the honeycomb), and this is a 9.5.

The “quality” of the airflow is more striking. One reason I often worry about honeycomb airflows is because sometimes the air they produce has a “spongy” quality. Even though it’s really difficult to define, you can always tell when it’s occurring.

Fortunately, that is not the case; it is very smooth. In fact, the airflow is among the best I’ve ever felt. There is no turbulence, no spongy sensation, and no strange sounds. Just wonderful, smooth airflow!

It is simple to stop the airflow simply rotating the top cap, and it never seems “unbalanced.” More noise, but it’s hardly noticeable.

It also produces beautiful clouds, and you can use it to swiftly fog up a room.

Does the excellent airflow imply that the taste is also excellent?

Joyfully, it does! Flavor on the Pyro V4 RDTA is really amazing. In order to make sure it wasn’t a one-trick pony, I also tested it with desserts even though I was generally using quite fruity flavors.
