When there is less wire in contact with your cotton, this limits the amount of e-liquid that can be vaporized on each draw.  Using a single coil setup will reduce the amount of e-liquid consumed on each fire.  Overall, it will consume less e-juice but may require the use of higher nicotine concentration.

Temperature of the Vape

Single coil configurations require less power.  For the most part, less power means less heat.  With one coil your vape should taste much cooler.

Dual Coil Configuration

In dual coil set-ups, the battery of the vaping device uniformly distributes power to two coils that concurrently heat up the e-juice and convert it into vapor.  Dual coil build configurations are slightly more difficult to setup.  They require you to build two coils with matching resistance. In addition, some build decks only have two poles which make it harder to install the coils since the coil leads have to share post holes.


Cloud Production

Since there is a larger surface area for e-juice to come in contact with the coils, dual configurations offer much more vapor compared to single coil set-ups. They are a great choice for cloud chasers since they produce much denser vapor.

A dual coil configuration is instrumental in providing a stronger throat hit since it delivers more vapor. Therefore, such configurations are ideal for individuals who are transitioning from smoking to vaping and are looking for a larger punch of nicotine at a lower nicotine percentage.

For example, vapes with dual coil set-ups tend to consume e-liquid much faster.  More surface area means more vapor but may lead to as much as five times greater e-liquid consumption.  This is because more e-liquid is exposed from the cotton which is in contact with the wire in your build.

Temperature of the Vape

Because you are using more metal which requires more power it translates into more heat.  It is definitely a hotter vape than a single coil.  This is also why it is required to have a more open airflow.  

If you are running two or more coils it is advised to stay away from any metallic drip tips. These can get very hot!

Most premade coils are made using this wire. It is ideal for wattage, but it performs dismally when it comes to temperature control. Due to its stiff nature, it doesn’t lose shape when used to make atomizer coil loops. 

Stainless Steel

Usage: Variable Wattage & Temperature Control Mode

These wires are exceptional due to their ability to support TC mode and wattage vaping. They are alloys constructed using chromium, nickel, and carbon.  They are easy to work with and hold shape easily. They also have a quicker ramp-up time compared to Kanthal.


Usage: Temperature Control Wire Mode

These coil-building wires are manufactured using pure titanium that is well matched for TC devices. When heated to more than 1200F, titanium releases toxic titanium dioxide that can put your health at risk.  Apart from being easy to work with, titanium wires hold shape well.  Titanium produces a clean, crispy flavor.


Usage: Temperature Control Wire

This unique alloy is a blend of nickel and chromium. It functions almost similar to the Kanthal wire, but it has a quicker ramp-up time. It has less spring than Kanthal, but it still maintains shape perfectly, which simplifies coil building.


Usage: Temperature Control Mode

Commonly known as Ni200, Nickel wires consist of pure nickel. These wires are readily available locally. Nickel is a perfect choice for temperature control devices. It produces a delicious flavor and makes the vaping experience better.
